Welcome to The Shawano Womans Club, which has been in existence for well over a century and was established with a few primary objectives: social fellowship, literary improvement and cultural development. We provide stimulating programs for our members, plus we also raise funds for scholarships and support of many local non-profit organizations. We have donated over $45,000 in our past seven fiscal years for scholarships and support of many local non-profit organizations.
The Club meets for an unique program event at 10:30 am at various locations in the Shawano area followed by the Club business meeting and lunch at local restaurants. Lunch starts at 12:30 pm. Upcoming Meetings and Events - 2023-2024
March 12, 2024: Location: American Legion, 850 South Lincoln Street, Shawano. There is a parking lot behind the Legion. Program: “Go Fly a Kite” by Bob Klopke. He will talk about the different kites, and the different kite shows he has attended. Program starts at 10:30 a.m. Bar will be open for refreshment purchases. Meeting starts at 11:00 a.m. Lunch after meeting is at El Tequila’s Mexican Restaurant.
April 9, 2024: Location: Shawano County Court House-lower level, 311 N. Main Street. Meeting: 10:30 a.m. Program: Youth Art Show Awards – 11:30 a.m. Lunch after Awards: Farm Inn on Main, 123 North Main Street
April 16, 2024: Raffle Donation Drop Off: Behind library in parking lot from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
April 23, 2024: Location: American Legion Post, 850 South Lincoln Street, Shawano. Meeting: Final Preparations for Fashion Show Lunch after Meeting: The Pad, 221 Airport Road, Shawano.
May 8, 2024: Location: The Gathering, 2600 E. Richmond Street, Shawano. Set-up for the Fashion Show. 9 a.m. – Noon Lunch: Brother’s Pub, N5867 Lake Drive, Shawano.
May 9, 2024: Location: The Gathering: 2600 E. Richmond Street, Shawano. FASHION SHOW Members arrive at 9 a.m., doors open to public at:10:30 a.m.
June 11, 2024: Location: Shawano County Historical Society – Heritage Park, 524 N. Franklin Street, Shawano. Program: Quilt Turning/Quilt Stories by Marlene Bowan presented in the Church. Meeting will follow program. Salad and Dessert Potluck Lunch after meeting on the porch of the Historical Society building (paper plates, napkins, plastic silverware and water will be provided).
July 9, 2024: Location: Smalley Park, 211 Riverside Drive, Shawano. Program: Timberland Invasives, Partnership coordinator – Abby Vogt. Meeting will follow program. Lunch at The Lighthouse Bar and Grill, W6440 Gumaer Road, Shawano.
August 13, 2024: Location: Shawano Café, W7389 River Bend Road, Shawano. Program: Shawano Humane Society by Pam Nowak. Meeting following program. Lunch at the Shawano Café – orders will be submitted before program.
